Praven Intelekt joins Lexroom, marking the start of its expansion in Central and Eastern Europe
The acquisition combines Lexroom's technology and European scale with a Bulgarian legal AI platform serving over 20,000 registered users and more than 900 clients. Praven Intelekt's founders and team are joining Lexroom and will work on the company's growth in Bulgaria and Central and Eastern Europe.
Sofia, 8 September 2026 – Praven Intelekt, the AI assistant for Bulgarian law, is joining Lexroom, the AI operating system for legal work. Lexroom is acquiring 100% of Praven Intelekt, making Bulgaria the company's first market in Central and Eastern Europe.
The acquisition makes Bulgaria Lexroom's first market in Central and Eastern Europe, following its entry into Germany and Spain. Founded in 2023, Lexroom is among Europe's fastest-growing legal technology companies, with over 20,000 clients, more than €20 million in annual recurring revenue, and $50 million raised in a Series B round in May 2026.
Founded in Sofia in 2025 by attorney Siyanna Lilova, Rangel Milushev, and Kristiyan Tsanov, Praven Intelekt built one of Bulgaria's first dedicated AI platforms for legal professionals. It supports legal research, document analysis, and legal drafting.
The platform provides access to nearly 1.2 million legal documents from 18 official Bulgarian and European sources, including legislation, case law, EU law, and decisions and guidance from public authorities and regulators. Its answers are grounded in official legal sources and link to specific documents so legal professionals can verify the information themselves.
In just over a year, Praven Intelekt reached over 20,000 registered users and more than 900 clients, including individual lawyers, law firms, municipalities, corporate legal departments, and compliance teams. Around 1,500 professionals use the platform each week. This scale was achieved by a core team of just five people, combining experience in law, engineering, data, and business development.
“This acquisition is an important step in our expansion across Europe. Praven Intelekt stood out for the quality of its team, the results it achieved in an exceptionally short time, and the depth of a product built specifically for Bulgarian legal professionals,” says Paolo Fois, co-founder and CEO of Lexroom. “Legal AI cannot scale across Europe simply by translating the same product into different languages. Every market requires local legal data, knowledge of the jurisdiction, and an understanding of how legal professionals actually work. Praven Intelekt has already built that foundation in Bulgaria. Combined with Lexroom's technology, resources, and scale, it can make Bulgaria the starting point for a much broader presence in Central and Eastern Europe.”
Praven Intelekt's founders and team are joining Lexroom and will continue developing the Bulgarian market. Siyanna Lilova, co-founder and CEO of Praven Intelekt, becomes Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Lexroom and will lead the company's growth in the region.
Praven Intelekt's technology, legal databases, and accumulated local knowledge will gradually become part of the Lexroom platform. Existing clients will continue to use the product with its current capabilities, which Lexroom will expand with new functionality.
“We created Praven Intelekt because we wanted to bring a world-class solution to Bulgaria's legal market. Legal professionals needed AI adapted to the realities of local law, not a general-purpose global tool,” says Siyanna Lilova, co-founder of Praven Intelekt and Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Lexroom. “Joining Lexroom allows us to preserve that depth of local expertise, but on an entirely different scale. From here, Bulgaria can become the starting point from which the same approach reaches legal professionals across Central and Eastern Europe.”
Today, Lexroom serves over 20,000 clients and has a team of more than 200 people. Its technology is built around data and over 13 million legal sources. In the summer of 2026, the company exceeded €20 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
In May 2026, Lexroom raised $50 million in a Series B round led by Left Lane, with participation from Base10 Partners, Eurazeo, Acurio Ventures, Entourage, and View Different. The round closed eight months after a $19 million Series A, bringing the company's total funding to over $73 million.
In the longer term, Lexroom's ambition is to become the AI operating system for legal work. The company aims to bring legal research, document drafting, analysis, and broader professional workflows into one platform, starting with Europe's civil-law markets.
